Fans and media will continue to remind players that it has been 100 years since the Cubs have won a World Series...
Guess what? Who cares?
I don't care, and you the Cub fan shouldn't care.
Unless you're old and gray, there's no reason to get caught up in the 100 years of loosing. What the Cubs do March 31st has nothing to do with what has happened over the past 100 years. The past is the past. (There's nothing that upsets me more than young Cub fans in their early 20's who seem to believe that the Cubs have put them through misery the past 10 years.)
-Pat wants you to know that if he sees this plaque in your office, he's gonna take it off the wall, and beat your brains in!In the past ten years they've gone from an organization who had zero interest in winning a championship, to an organization far more committed to winning a championship.
-Pat would also like to remind you of this man. It was really bad before. Really, really, really bad.As Cub fans, we should settle for nothing less then a championship.
Yet, we should also realize that our players and organization have nothing to do with the past 100 years.
That said, lets hope the Cubs can find an left handed lead off man with speed?
Lets also hope everyone stays healthy, plays to their potential, and we get a little luck. One things for sure, if we're close come July 31st Hendry and the Cubs will do what ever is needed to put themselves in position to win.... I figured I'd post this today, because I always seem to always get a little negative once this season starts... Go Cubs!!!!!!!

good job, Pat.
If works clears up today, f it!
My works been REALLY REALLY REALLY slow lately...so HOPEFULLY I can push in a chat at about 315pm.
Thanks for the positive vibes Pat. I wish the tooth fairy would come and leave a left handed hitting leadoff man under your pillow.
Unbeknownst to Pat,
he actually IS the left-handed leadoff hitter!
I was actually a solid number two hitter in high school.. I was batting .350 before tearing my hamstring.. That said, I'm sure Lou would move me to the 5 whole just to shake things up.. He loves shaking things up..
Faux-Cubs fans, I think, like to feel like they're "part of something" by citing the long drought. Real Cubs fans are miserable more because everyone else keeps bringing it up and rubbing it in our faces than because of the years themselves.
